Our digital world has become inevitable and inescapable. Consume(d) communicates that the very same digital world that was created by our species is also the one that consumes and controls us daily.

Among many, our digital age elicits addiction and feelings of distress, overstimulation, dissatisfaction, and isolation. I incorporated more complex, anxiety-inducing visuals and even unnecessarily-repetitive sound effects.

Social media addiction, as all forms of addiction do, entails less and less dopamine being produced in our brain's reward center each time we interact with the same stimulus. We interact with the original thing that brought us this burst of dopamine more and more in an attempt to feel the same "high", or amount of dopamine as we did at the very start.
